Case Study: livin People

From apprentice to manager

livin goes beyond standard support for apprentices and our performance speaks for itself with 100% retention rate for apprentices, 47% of staff started their career as apprentices and 100% of apprentices have gained employment. The quality of livin apprentices is attributable to the clear personal training and qualification plans and ability to gain wide experience throughout livin’s partnerships. Additional benefits include:

  • mentoring and coaching sessions with line managers (all qualified coaches), teaching and revision sessions and further education pathways
  • Business Ambassadors role within schools and colleges
  • Opportunities to complete additional accredited qualifications
  • The living wage
  • represented livin futures at the Have a Go Event at the World Skills Show
  • contribute to initiatives and gain rewarding experiences through community investment projects.

Brogan benefited from livin’s offer of progression, promotion and retention. Brogan completed administration apprenticeship in 2007, secured employment at livin as a trainee Accounting Technician and progressed to Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). In 2014, Brogan secured a Financial Accountant position and continues to be exemplary in her on going accountancy qualifications.

“The icing on the cake was securing full-time employment, which has given me the opportunity to become a first time buyer and to reinvest in my own local community.” Brogan (Financial Accountant)
