Case Study: Digital Me

Digital Me is a free service that provides digital support and training to help our customers get online and make the most out of being connected to the internet.  Our friendly volunteers will visit you at home or in your local Community Centre and provide you with online basics skills to help you use a computer, tablet, smartphone and the internet.

All training is free of charge, available to anyone regardless of age and ability and is tailored to individual needs.

As part of the service livin also offer volunteering opportunities for residents with an interest in digital.  We can offer volunteers the opportunity to complete an accredited IT qualification through our award winning livin Futures programme to help them into work.

  • 99% of learners feel that their digital confidence has increased following sessions with a DSF volunteer
  • 17 people volunteered to become Digital Me People
  • 33% of Digital Me volunteers have gained employment

I gained so much confidence on the Digital Me programme. Experience supporting residents to get on line and the work experience gained at livin, was both enjoyable and extremely valuable. This course is the reason why I now have my dream job. The knowledge I’ve learned along the way has also given me the confidence to enrol onto a higher ICT qualification;
